THINK!

"What I want you to know, prior to looking at this work, is just this : I am in love with the human figure and with vase forms. As you may know, many aspects of the pot are likened to the human body : lips, hips, feets, shoulders, etc. Since these references came long before me, I had no interest in completely obliderating the history of ceramics. Instead, I looked at the human body, looked at ceramics/pottery from antiquity...and found what interested me. Generally, human vulnerability can be looked at in many ways, per exempio, small children or people, softness...and on the body, our undersides, our creases. Our mouths, our ears, our genitalia...all have the capacity for greatness, strength and creation but still are so vulnerable in many ways.

Thus, my work, Florauna, is small, is based upon simple geometric forms, the sphere and cone, and has many creases."
